We're moving this experience online! Stay tuned for more changes to come. In the meantime, if you'd like to learn more, we'd love to hear from you.

Transition into the summer months with clarity, purpose, and a supportive community, to help you create a meaningful education, career, and life.

With a strong entrepreneurial mindset, a deeper understanding of how to access your creativity, and a supportive community of impact-driven peers, you will have the tools necessary to thrive in your future career.

  • Hear from a Talent Acquisition Manager at one of our partner companies, and former students 1-2 years post-graduation, to learn what it takes to stand out from the crowd as you navigate your job search.

  • Learn how to give a concise and effective elevator pitch, to tell your story in a way that highlights your passions, mindset, and skillset. Onsite coaches and public speaking experts will help you craft your story in a way that is compelling, digestible, and relatable.

  • Learn how to build an authentic and marketable social media presence and digital footprint, geared towards maximizing new opportunities.

  • Ideate on personal projects that will help you distinguish yourself in your key areas of interest. As they say, projects are the new resume.

  • Cultivate a toolbox of practices to flex your creativity muscle and become an idea machine.

"Startup Island put me in a different mindset, one of power, confidence, and mindfulness. Since I came back from the trip, I’ve manifested the mindset in all areas of my life -- projects, meetings, competitions, relationships…and I’ve watched how it positively influences my life."

- Tori Popescu, Drexel University

Who will be there:

We are looking for students with an entrepreneurial-mindset who seek to thrive in a rapidly changing world. This doesn't mean you have to own a company. It means you take ownership over your entire journey. You want to find balance and meaning in all of it - your career, education, relationships, and more.

Expect to be surrounded by creatives, techies, out-of-the-box thinkers, and impact-driven peers, all of whom seek to level up in their personal and professional lives. You will have an opportunity to work with experienced coaches to fine-tune your goals and create an action plan to help you achieve them. You will also hear from young professionals just a year or two post-graduation, who will share their experience navigating the job search and transitioning to the “real world.”

Who will be running the workshops?

Workshops will be led by members of the Startup Island team, coaches within the SI network, and select participants with a unique story and area of expertise. Some workshops will lean more towards personal development, some will lean towards professional development, and many will touch on both. You’ll have an opportunity throughout the weekend to choose the workshops most relevant to you.

What time does the experience begin on Friday, and what time does it end on Sunday?

We aim to have everyone arrive at camp by 4pm on Friday, June 5th, and the program ends at 3pm on Sunday, June 7th. You’ll be amazed at what we can accomplish and learn together in less than 48 hours!

How do I get there?

We work with all of our travelers to coordinate carpools from the surrounding areas. If you’re coming from outside of the northeast, we recommend flying into a NYC-area airport, and we will arrange a carpool for you from there. There is also an Amtrak station about 20 minutes from camp (Rhinecliff), where we can pick you up on Friday and drop you off on Sunday.

What should I pack?

We send out a packing list one month before each of our trips, to ensure that you have enough time to prepare. In the meantime, think minimalism.

Will I have cell phone service?

There is WiFi available in certain buildings at Scatico, so that you can check in with the outside world during free time, if you’d like. The general service at camp is also pretty decent. All that said, we aim to create a space that’s healthily disconnected from technology, where you don't need or want to use your devices.

What's the rooming situation like?

You will be sleeping in big, beautiful cabins with 8 - 14 fellow travelers. Everyone will have their own bed and cubby space for clothing and personal items. All cabins have running, drinkable water, as well as a porch and picnic table for hangin’ during free time.

How's the food?

Honestly, pretty incredible. Food is a top priority on all of our trips. Expect delicious meals served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with vegetarian and vegan options, plus a salad, soup, and pasta bar. If you have any restrictions or allergies, you will have a chance to let us know on your pre-trip questionnaire, which you will receive after you are accepted into the program and your spot is secured.

How do I pay for the trip?

After you apply, we will be in touch with next steps. If accepted into the program, you will receive a credit card form to complete your registration.

We also offer monthly payment plans, for travelers who need more time to submit the full balance.

Okay, I'm ready to sign up. How do I do it?
